Mrs. Maliea Altamirano

Hello! My name is Maliea Altamirano and I am a Special Education teacher at Middleton Middle School. I graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders with the plan to get my Masters in Speech Language Pathology, but through my 2 years working in special education as a Speech Pathology Aide, I found a calling to switch into teaching. I decided to then go and get my teaching certificate in General K-8 and Special Education. 

I am an Idaho native, so I am excited teach in my home state! I married my husband in 2020 and together we have two very energetic German Shorthair Pointer dogs, Harley and Kona and a baby on the way! I love all things outdoors, but also love to curl up with popcorn and spend a night in watching movies. 

I truly believe that I was meant to be a teacher and am thrilled to continue my teaching here in Middleton.
