Mrs. Anne Kinley
I am very excited to have the privilege of educating your child this year. I have been teaching 27 plus years. I have taught first grade, second grade, fourth grade and Middle School Family and Consumer Science (FCS). I was born and raised right here in the Treasure Valley. I went to school in Caldwell and graduated from Caldwell High School. I spent my first year of college at Washington State University on a full ride swimming scholarship and finished my degree at the University of Idaho in 1996 (Go Vandals!). My family and I reside in Nampa. I am married with one daughter Morganne, a graduate of Middleton High School and University of Idaho and is currently a new 7th and 8th grade English teacher here in Middleton! I am a "furmom" to two wonderful doggies- one, a fun-loving Cairn Terrier (Toto) named Bear, and two, a beautiful black lab named Deke. In my free time I enjoy hiking, downhill skiing at Brundage Mountain, and spending time at my family cabin in McCall. I also enjoy traveling with my family, paddle boarding, rafting and reading novels.

This is a trimester-long class- it consists mainly of cooking with relationships and family relations content taught intertwined. It is NOT a pass/fail class. We will have approximately 4 cooking labs. All cooking labs will have a demonstration before for comprehension and to maximize student success for their own cooking labs.
-
Our cooking focus is on the basics, using proper measuring techniques, and proper direction following of recipes. We focus on meal preparation, and working together to create fun, appetizing dishes.
-
Cooking labs are hands-on experiences that you will complete with your group members. This requires teamwork, inclusion, and a positive attitude.
-
Thinking activities that are cooking related are done often (except lab days). These are graded.
d. We heavily focus on kitchen cleanliness and food safety practices.
