Mrs. Jennifer Vickhammer
My name is Jennifer Vickhammer and I teach physical education at Middleton Middle School. I have been teaching middle school and high school over the past 27 years. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in English Education and Physical Education at the University of Idaho in 1995. I started teaching and coaching basketball and volleyball in Castleford, ID. It was a great community to get my feet wet but moved to Kimberly, ID six years later. A new job for my husband brought us to the Boise area where I applied for a job at Middleton High School and worked for eight years. Ten years ago I left the high school to be a full time PE teacher at the middle school. It has been a wonderful experience and I hope to retire from the Middleton School District in the future.
I have two wonderful sons, Jake and Zach, who are twins. I feel blessed to have taught them their three years at the middle school and knew they were in good hands at the high school. My husband of 28 years, Brad, works for the Boise Police Department and he is my biggest supporter. He too taught for seven years and understands the importance of education. As a former School Resource Officer for Boise High School, we both have a committment to educating our youth.
I am passionate about teaching and an advocate for all kids. I am a member of the National Education Association as well as the IEA and MEA. I am also a member of SHAPE; SHAPE America is the nation's largest organization of health and physical educators.
I truly believe all children can learn and grew up in a family full of teachers. Whether in the classroom or on the court, I try to encourage kids to do their best and take chances.
“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying.”
